Based in Melbourne, we manufacture high quality and custom-made furniture for residential and commercial spaces. Our client base is prominently made up of architects and designers who we collaborate with, design and manufacture for, however, we encourage anyone with an eye for detail and creative ideas to reach out.

We collaborate directly with our clients, discussing their ideas, inspirations, their space and any limitations they may have, then we design and create their furniture by hand using only quality materials.

We put our heart and soul into making beautiful furniture that people get excited about having in their homes.

  • Harbro is and has been a family owned & run business for over 47 years.

  • We manufacture and upholster high quality furniture for residential and commercial spaces.

  • We make and or upholster: sofas, armchairs, ottomans, bed heads, beds, mattresses, large wall panels for joinery companies in custom built homes to banquette seating for restaurants and cafes.

  • Our clientele is made up of a select few retail stores but predominantly Interior designers and Architects - who not only purchase our designs but also engage us to collaborate in design, build and customise specific one off pieces.

  • All products can be upholstered in any desired fabric, (not purely the fabrics we offer on our site). Fabrics can either be supplied by us or by the client we’re working with.

  • All our furniture is made to order - we don’t hold stock.

  • Our manufacturing lead times are roughly 8 - 10 weeks.

  • We use only quality materials and build by hand, using no big machinery. Nothing in our factory is made at large volume.

  • We work closely with our clients throughout their furniture build to unsure the end result is exactly what they dream of.

Our difference

We take great pride in who we are and what we do, from the quality of the products we use to our craftsmanship. We believe that great quality, and our attention to detail combined with our desire to become the best we possibly can is not only the right thing to do but it’s exactly what the world needs more of. Most furniture brands that genuinely create great quality furniture either don’t or can’t offer the level of customisation we can due to their size and their need to produce volume.

There aren’t too many traditional furniture manufacturers out there with the desire and or ability to try and reinvent themselves like we are. We’re striving to build a brand that people not only love and are obsessed with, but are also inspired by. We have a real opportunity here to create something amazing, something Australia hasn’t seen or produced a lot of in a very long time. And we’re trying to achieve it being uniquely us, with an edge, pride and an open mind.
